I can’t understand how OVERHEARING another language could be so irritating.
I find it incredibly rude when someone is speaking in another language. Not because I’m racist but I’m just paranoid that they are talking about me. It’s very popular in high school/secondary school for bullies who are foreign speakers to choose to say something about you to their friend while you’re right there.
Why are you listening to other people’s conversations? Eavesdropping is rude.
Another example of how entitled white people can be, thinking they have a right to know what other people are saying in their private convos.
How could people be bullying you if you don’t even know if they’re talking about you or not? Bullying implies they’re outright picking on you, not that they may be talking about you, they may not. Why would you think you’re so important that everyone must be talking about you constantly? You’re probably nowhere near that level of interesting.
It’s RUDE when you don’t DO AS I SAY because then I can’t tell if you’re talking about ME.
By the way, how did Americans end up speaking language? Hmm… might it be… the language that immigrants brought with them?
